1.4 General Wiring Diagram
ShineMaster monitors photovoltaic devices through RS485. The diagram below shows the schematic diagram of network monitoring through wired RS485.
Note: The precondition of local access is that the address of PC and ShineMaster must be in the same domain, thereby building up a local monitoring system.
- Two units in parallel
- Three units in parallel
For port wiring, further instructions will be given below for the yellow-marked areas of the general wiring diagram.

2. ShineMaster Setting
Configuration Suggestions before setting.
so it can't be used with other Wi-Fi collectors, such as ShineWIFI-X or ShineLanBox, otherwise, it can't work properly in ShineMaster.
- We require that the ShineMaster be directly connected to the customer's home network router (very important)
It allows Growatt's after-sales team to troubleshoot issues remotely with greater ease in the future.
ShineMaster must be connected to the native network port of the PC or Laptop.
2.1 Network Configuration in Windows
2.1.1 For Windows 11
Go into the Windows network settings and configure the correct network card for your laptop to enable PC access to ShineMaster.
2.1.2 For Windows 7
The first thing that must be done is to gain access to the Network and Sharing Center in Windows 7. This can be done in one of two ways; the first way to access it is via the control panel.
- Click Start > Control Panel.
- Select View network status and Tasks.
- Once the Network and Sharing Center is open there is an option which allows the change of adapter settings which is shown in the upper left hand corner of the window.
- The wired interface will be used as the interface being given a static IP Address.
- By right-clicking on the correct interface a sub-menu is shown; from this menu select the properties option.
- Once this option is selected the properties button will be enabled; press the properties button.
- Computer IP Settings are shown in the figure below:
2.2 ShineMaster Setting Center Login

2.3 Select Communication port: RS485_1
After logging in, click to enter the Export limit & Datalogger setting interface.
Please set the communication address between SPH and ShineMaster in the following order.
First, select RS485-1 and add the communication interface between SPH and ShineMaster
2.4 Select Inverter: INVERTER
2.5 Assign COM address for ShineMaster
Red box 1 is used to assign a communication address to the devices.
For example, there are three SPH in parallel;
For the first SPH, write the number "1" in red box 1, and then click red box 2 and red box 3;
When you want to assign an address to the second SPH, write the number "2" in red box 1, and then click red box 2 and red box 3;
When you want to assign an address to the third SPH, write the number "3” in red box 1, and then click red box 2 and red box 3.
2.6 Matching SmartMeter
Set the communication address between Smartmeter and ShineMaster in the following order.
Select RS485-2 and add the communication interface between the meter and ShineMaster
Then select the corresponding meter model according to the meter used.
SDM120 single-phase electricity meter;
SDM630 three-phase electricity meter.
2.7 Definition of communication addresses for different meters
Different smart meters have corresponding communication addresses.
After filling in the address, please add and save it according to the red numbers 2 and 3 in the figure.
SDM 120 communication address is "1";
SDM630 communication address is "2";
