Pre-Configuration Checklist:

Wi-Fi Compatibility:
- Ensure the datalogger is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network only. It is not compatible with 5 GHz Wi-Fi or mixed 2.4 GHz/5 GHz networks. (Please contact your Internet Provider for getting a separated 2.4GHz Network, it is free of charge)
- Example: If you have two Wi-Fi networks, "Optus" and "Optus_5G," connect the datalogger to "Optus."

Wi-Fi Name and Password Requirements:
- Only letters and numbers are recognized. Avoid spaces and special characters like hyphens and underscores.
- Both the Wi-Fi name and password are case-sensitive and must not exceed 13 characters.

Signal Strength:
- Ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal near the inverter. Test the signal strength using your mobile device near the inverter.
Special Note for Telstra Users:
- If using Telstra, ensure you have a 2.4 GHz network available. If not, refer to article Telstra Guest WI-FI Configuration for instructions on creating a 2.4 GHz network.

Account Setup:
- If you do not have an account, please refer to the article 'Procedure for Creating a ShinePhone Account' for detailed steps on creating a new account.
- If you have got the Lanbox as shown below, this article is not the right one for your device. Please kindly refer to the article ' Configuration Instructions for ShineLink / ShineLink-X' for instruction.

Configuration Methods:
Method 1:
- Prerequisite: Ensure the LED light on the dongle is flashing red.

Instructions:
- Connect your mobile device to the 2.4 GHz network at your location.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password.
- Press “Configure Immediately.”
Method 2:
For ShineWIFI-X (excluding Serial Number Starting from 5B/6B series) and ShineWIFI-S (all types)
- Prerequisite: Ensure the LED light on the dongle is solid blue.
Method 2 - Type 1
- Instructions:
- Connect your mobile device to the hotspot of the datalogger (network name is the dongle's serial number, e.g., XGD5BFS4PQ). Password: 12345678.
- Stay connected to this hotspot throughout the configuration process.
- Enter the customer's home Wi-Fi name and password.
You will need to do some settings here.
After ‘Restart Immediately’, the dongle will restart itself.
Method 2 - Type 2 For ShineWIFI-X (SN starts from 5B /6B series)
- Instructions:
On Shinephone app, after you have selected method 2 – Hotspot Mode, you will reach the page ‘Step 3-Configure the hotspot mode’.
Please connect your phone's Wi-Fi to the hotspot of the datalogger. The network name will be the serial number of the dongle. For example:
- Network Name: XGD5BFS4PQ
- Password: 12345678
Ensure your phone remains connected to this hotspot throughout the entire configuration process.
Next, enter the name and password of the customer's home Wi-Fi network.
Method 3 - For ShineWIFI-S and ShineWIFI-X (excluding 5B/6B series)
Instructions:

- Short press the reset button on the dongle. The indicator should show solid blue.
- Connect your mobile device to the dongle's hotspot (Wi-Fi name: XGD... or JPC...). Password: 12345678.
- Open a web browser on your mobile device and enter the IP address: 192.168.10.100.
- Log in with the username: admin and password: 12345678.
- Choose “Manual.”
- Enter the Wi-Fi name and password in the respective fields.
- Click “Apply” and then “Restart Immediately.”
- Configuration is complete when the light flashes blue.
